INTERPRETING YOUR DREAMS
DATE: 22nd March 2008
AUTHOR: Obii Pax-Harry

Dear Co-labourer,

This is another word of exhortation on day 4 of a five day “window in time” to re-engage with dreams in your heart. The time has come to interpret your   dreams and to understand strategies hidden in dreams.  It is important that the body of Christ prays for amplification of the voices of those amongst with supernatural abilities to interpret dreams. You cannot celebrate a dream you do not understand nor can you fulfil its purpose.  The enemy’s strategies are also revealed to us through the dream channel but without interpretation we miss hidden mysteries revealed through dreams. Joseph’s gift of interpretation announced him to Pharaoh.  You too can receive the grace of interpretation of dreams today. Be blessed,

INTERPRETING YOUR DREAMS

“Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it…” (Proverbs 15:22)

Pamela Starr once said; “Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.”  There is always a purpose for a God given dream hence those dreams sometimes take people through processes they neither planned nor bargained for. My teenage daughter had a dream in her heart of leaving home one day into the adult world where she could rule her world (you know what I mean?).  She kept this dream alive especially at times of rebellion however when the God ordained time came for her dream of leaving home to come into reality, she panicked.

It was time to move on into University life but her timing was different from God’s timing, so were her thoughts and ways (Isaiah 55:8).  She vocalised her dream so much that she forgot to interpret or to plan for it.  By interpreting her dream she would have thought of ways in which it would look in reality.  No sooner had I dropped my daughter off at her new university, a good four hours away from home at the other end of England, did the phone calls start to come!.  She had not planned for the process…loneliness, unfamiliar housemates, cooking own meals and of course, managing own funds.

Dreams can take you down a route or routes you did not plan for, envisage or foresee. Let’s face it, nearly everything in life worth achieving involves stages, and takes you through processes, sometimes painful.  Reality must engage with your dreams at some point otherwise your dreams will revert to what they were before you started off…dreams.  Unless you get your mind to accept the fact that your dream will go through stages and may take you through processes pleasant and unpleasant then you may be faced with disappointment. A disappointed dreamer or visionary is someone who came short of living their dream simply because they did not interpret it.   Joseph had two dreams of future greatness which he shared with his family. Unfortunately for Joseph his dreams infuriated his brothers and at a point incurred the wrath of his ever doting father, Jacob.  Envy rose up in the hearts of his brothers and they conspired to kill him.  They mocked; “Look, this dreamer is coming.” (Genesis 37:19). Dreamers are often at risk from envious ‘insiders’ who instead of becoming part of your dream, want to kill it.

Child of God, if you interpret your past dreams you will discover that whatever you are going through at the moment is about your future dreams.  The devil does not fight your past life, because past is past.  Rather he uses the past to hinder the future.  Satan accuses with your past but battles against your future.  If your mind can receive this perspective; you will never be the same. You will become more future-oriented. In other words, once you accept that your challenges are about God ordained successes in the future you will fight more to secure your future and worry less about the past.

Further Scripture Reading: Genesis 37, 39, 40, Isaiah 48:10.

Prayer: Thank you Lord, for all dreams start from your heart. Thank you for pouring hope into my life, and for helping me dream again, Amen.
